The East Hartford Hockanum river race is a 6-mile course of winding, swift and flat water through the town. There is about 1-mile of flat, moving water on the Connecticut River. The race starts at Labor Field in East Hartford, CT at 11 p.m. Registration starts at 9 AM. There is $10 per paddler fee. Personal Floation Devices are required and a 18" line must be attached to the boat. There is 1 mandatory portage at Goodwin Lane around 3 dams. Start at Burnside & Walnut Streets.

Wildwater Nationals are open to Decked Kayaks and Canoes and will finish all the races in front of the main grandstands. Wildwater Sprint and Classic Thursday and Friday, Freestyle Saturday and Sunday.
September 6-8 Adirondack Canoe Classic (flatwater)
Distance: 90 mi
This three-day, 90-mile flat water race follows the original highways of the Adirondacks from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. The course offers a mix of lake and river flat water paddling with several carries. Participants receive a T-shirt, mileage pins, awards, camping, snacks, boat shuttles and a post race meal. Entry forms for this race go out via U.S. Mail in June. The 90 - Miler is limited to 250 boats. Entry deadline is July 25.

  • The 5-mile paddle starts from Tully Lake Campground, proceeds up the Tully River (flat water) to the north end of Long Pond, and returns to the starting point for the transition to the run.
  • The 4.5-mile run follows a dirt trail around Tully Lake. Its course is moderate except for one short steep hill on Doane Hill Road.
  • The 7.5-mile bike leg will loop the Tully Lake Mountain Bike Trail, a moderately difficult mix of fire roads and single track.

Course: 6.5 Mile class I mass start downriver race from the parking area to the rt 5 underpass on the Deerfield River, this section is flatwater, quickwater with some class I whitewater and meanders through the rural farmland of historic Deerfield. Take out on river right just past the Rt 5 overpass. Park under the railroad bridge on River Rd.
