NECKRA and the Mahar School paddling program in Orange, MA, are pleased to announce that there will be a free youth and adult kayak and canoe clinic, on Sunday, June 7th at the Orange Boathouse in Orange, MA.
The clinic will be held from 12:00 - 2:00. All youth and adults who would like to improve their paddling skills, with an eye towards entering a canoe and kayak race, are cordially invited. Bring a boat if you have access to one. We will have some kayaks and canoes, and the Peak Expedition Boathouse can rent a boat and paddle at a modest price.
There will be instructors for both kayaking and canoeing. NECKRA will provide light refreshments after the clinic.
Come join us!!
We would appreciate additional instructors to be on the water. If you are available June 7th (this is a non-race day), please contact:
Priscilla Reinertsen, NECKRA President prtsen1@comcast
or, Carole Normandin, Program Director for the Mahar School paddling program, firstname.lastname@example.org
or, Heidi Henkel, kayak instructor, email@example.com
Hope to see many of you on June 7th. Spread the word. And please get back to one of us if you can attend.
The results have been posted for the Connecticut C1/K1 Championships held on Sunday July 13. High water and strong winds from the south made for some rough water. All paddlers made it to the finish safely, though some were wetter than others.
The Summer issue of The Competitive Paddler is available for your reading pleasure.
